Hello Class: This morning Mr. Janes and I had the privilege of visiting Mt. Etjo Private School. We were able to upload your video onto ...
Hello Everybody: My name is Mrs. Melissa Janes and I am very excited you will be traveling with me to Africa! I never thought I would find myself going on an African Safari with my husband, King. Last year I attended a Safari Club International Convention with Mr. Janes and met wonderful people from all over the world. Their stories intrigued me. How did their families end up where they were? What was their life like? What language did they speak? What did they eat and what did they see?
ReplyDeleteThis reminded me of when I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Brazil for two years. It truly was a lived-in experience with a lifestyle, language and culture much different than my own. I practiced my nursing profession in a country surrounded by people in much need. This experience forever shaped my world view as a nurse and as a person.
I have never been to Africa and look forward to this new adventure. We will be staying at the Mount Etjo, Jan Oelofse Hunting Safari Lodge. We chose them because they are "passionate animal conservationists" who have a dream to naturally sustain the environment and all its animals. The late Jan Oelofse, a famous conservationist said “Always give back more to nature than you take out.”
So, how do you suppose we will get there? How long will it take to arrive? What will I pack? What will I carry? What will we eat? What kind of animals will we see? What are the school children like?
Stay tuned for more information as I keep you updated. We can learn and share together! We will start our travels on April 15th and return April 28th. I look forward to your questions and discussions..........
